A growing Boy!

Three years ago today I was so miserable with being pregnant and I was making sure every part of the nursery was taken care of. Now today, 3 years later, I am taking the crib out of the room (no more toddler bed) and Ezekiel has a big boy bed! He was in my stomach for 9 months, I have rocked him for 3 years, laid him in a pack-n-play, laid him in a crib, put him in a toddler bed. How weird does it feel for me now to place him in his own queen size bed! I will have to admit that I had such a moment when I walked by him room and there was no sign of 'baby' anymore. Gosh, where does it go! However, he will always be my baby!

What boys find to do!

Kegan and I were having a conversation tonight and Ezekiel was in the living room watching Wow! Wow! Wubzy! I saw Kegan's eyes get big and say,"Oh no!" I looked and our child had his toothbrush brushing his teeth. Sounds like a great idea until I see the dirt that is in his mouth! Ezekiel took his toothbrush and put it in the plant on our end table and got it completely covered in dirt and then decided to brush his teeth! Oh Yeah! Dirty Mouth- clean it up! (He should be on that commercial!) I called mama to ask how to deal with this situations! I got a wash cloth and wiped his mouth out, brushed his teeth, wiped mouth out and brushed his teeth again! Only Ezekiel would find all of the amusing! I had to tell him how we cannot put dirt on our toothbrush b/c... I am sure he listened to my explanation! Of course, why not place dirt on your toothbrush! I mean, why toothpaste! Who comes up with these rules!

Bootball Game

Kegan had to work late tonight so Ezekiel and I took him supper. When we drove up to Chapman - I was not thinking what Ezekiel was. It seemed as if Ezekiel remember the Friday night trips we would make with our snacks packed, orange clothes, and a cheer for Daddy's team! When we pulled up in Chapman Ezekiel smiled really big when he saw his daddy. Kegan opened the door and Ezekiel said, (with so much excitement!) 'Hey Daddy, We are here to see the bootball game!" Kegan had to tell him there was no game- Ezekiel began to cry and said, "Oh no, What to do?" Even at a young age the smell of a fresh cut field, the band in the stands, and teh kick off are in his heart. Go Panthers- We are pulling for you!

The things I love about Ezekiel!

1. I love how if something is wrong he always ask ."What to do?"
2. I love how when he wakes up in the morning he always cries until I pick him up to hold him.
3. I love that he still needs his passy to go to sleep at night.
4. I love that he runs. Night time, during the day, whenever- just runs!!!!!
5. I love that sometimes he calls me Nana even when he knows it's mama!
6. I love how he finishes my sentences. I say, "Go!" he says, "Panthers!" I say, "What's gonna work?" he says, "Teamwork!"
7. I love how he goes into the bathroom with his fish, turns on the light and says, "Hey Fish! WOW!"
8. I love that when I pick him up in the afternoons after work- he comes running up to me as fast as he can with his arms out.!
9. I love that he knows his letters- Tonight we went walking in the neighborhood looking for letters- we found them on signs, car tags, and mailboxes!
10. I love that he loves to read! We read our books and he wants to read the same ones over and over.
11. I love that fact that he loves to be chased!
12. I love the fact that he loves when his cousin or friend Will comes over. He gets so excited to see his buddy!
13. I love the fact that he can run around outside with one shoe on and I have to chase him around to put the other shoe on.
14. I love the fact that he helps me sweep with his broom while I have mine.
15. I love the fact that he needs to come up to me during the day to rub my ear!!!!!
16. I love the fact that when I get the camera out he says Cheese!
17. I love the fact that he loves to take bubble baths!
18. I love the fact that he loves watching TV and I have to turn it off or he will just sit there and watch it all day long.
19. I love the fact they when it is cold outside (even a little) he feels he needs his gloves and hat.
20. I love the fact that when it is sunny outside he will stop and ask for his sunglasses.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Not one rose! Not one card- but I got something even better! A hug from my little Valentine! Kegan and I thought about what to get Ezekiel for Valentine's Day and we decided on a fish!!!! We placed it in our hall bathroom and Ezekiel will go in there and say, "Hey Fish!!!" I guess he is just wanted to make sure the fish is still there! What great weather today and a great time we had! We got our fish this morning- Ezekiel picked out the boat and pink coral reef for the bowl! We played outside most of the afternoon with his $5.00 plastic golf set, sidewalk chalk, looking at the gator (still not riding it) , throwing balls, and laying on a blanket! A friend came to play this afternoon with our train table! It is a new favorite! I also took time this afternoon to order Ezekiel's 3rd birthday invitations! Where has time gone! I finished making his 3 year old movie- and it makes me sad to think of how much he is growing up!!!! What a fun time today was! Not any 'amazing' stories but there sure were some memories made!!!!!!!

Sitting around and chatting!

We are just beginning to experience conversation with our little man! and Oh- how sweet it is! Today it was so pretty outside- we drew with sidewalk chalk- I think I love this as much as he does! and Ezekiel and I sat on a blanket and just talked! He was showing me the clouds and how they were up so high! We were looking at trees and we saw a bird! It was a sweet day for us! A few hugs here and there- wrestling on the blanket under the sunshine! and sharing in 'small talk' with my baby! He will be 3 soon-where does it go? Oh- i hope he is never to old to talk to his mom about the small things!!!!

How many kisses do you want tonight?

One of Ezekiel's favorite books is How many kisses do you want tonight? It is about a mama or daddy (although they are cats, snakes, and ducks) asking their child ," How many kisses do you want tonight?" It is a very cute book! I ask Ezekiel sometimes about how many kisses he wants. He manytimes ignores me and I kiss him anyways and he goes off playing like he was before. I asked him the other night."How many kisses do you want to night?" He said, "10!" So , I began kissing and he began counting. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10!!!!!
He is beginning to say a lot more these days. I couldn't help not to be worried although many told me not to! But it is so precious to hear him talk and use his words! Kegan was aggravating him the other night and Ezekiel said, "Stop that Kegan!!" We just laughed! Everyday is always a precious moment!!!!

The Simple Life!

These days my life is very simple- work, home, cook supper, bath time, read a book, bed, and then again, work, home, etc. Simple but Splendid! I love when nothing is on my agenda. I use could not say that- A couple of years ago I was crazy if there was nothing to do! Now I look forward to my weekends of Friday nights at home with whatever for supper a good movie and a goodnight sleep! This Saturday was the perfect Saturday! Ezekiel and I slept late! When we woke up (9:00) I began making breakfast! My family sat around the table! and then I began cleaning house, Ezekiel began playing with his trains and Kegan was playing X-box! After cleaning Ezekiel and I played in the house! Then after lunch we went outside and played for 2 1/2 hours. What can moms and boys do on a chilly Saturday for 2 1/2 hours- you guessed it! Pick up rocks and dig in the dirt! No much was said between us two- but it was the best! Ezekiel worked so hard in filling his bucket up with rocks and dirt- The determination to complete his task was written all over his face. We dug beside our house and then went across the road to a vacant lot and help the future homeowners out by picking up their rocks! We had a blast! Tomorrow is Monday- but 5 more days to - breakfast with family, cleaning, and another adventure in Bent River!
